Yonkers Girls Flag Football League
he Yonkers Girls Flag Football League is a dynamic and empowering program designed to provide high school girls with the opportunity to compete, grow, and thrive through the game of flag football. The league runs from early fall through mid to late November, depending on the number of participating teams.
Open to players of all skill levels, the league emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership while promoting physical fitness and self-confidence. Games are held weekly, and the season includes regular-season matchups followed by playoffs and a championship game. As one of the few organized opportunities for girls flag football in the region, this league plays a vital role in expanding access to sports for young women in Yonkers and surrounding communities.

Yonkers Girls Flag Football League – Frequently Asked Questions
The league is open to all high school girls in Yonkers and surrounding areas who are interested in playing flag footbal (Ages 13-17)l. No prior experience is required—beginners are welcome!
Our inaugural season kicks off on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at Lennon Park in Yonkers. Games will be played from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Registration will close on September 13th, 2025. Make sure to register before the deadline to secure your spot.

The league is committed to keeping opportunities affordable and accessible. It’s $50 to register, however, once the athlete completes at least 7 games we will refund $25 back to show our appreciation for your participation.

The league is operated by Alpha Elite Sports Inc., a Yonkers-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through athletics, mentorship, and community support.
Basic flag football equipment (such as NFL FLAG belts, footballs, and jerseys) will be provided. Players should wear athletic clothing, sneakers/cleats and a mouthpiece.
Yes! Our league has certified volunteer coaches dedicated to teaching the game, building confidence, and helping players grow both on and off the field.
Absolutely. Parents and community members can volunteer as coaches, assistants, or league helpers. Visit our website to sign up as a volunteer.
While the league is primarily for Yonkers high school girls, we welcome players from nearby areas who want to join and be part of this exciting movement.
